Winchester came to Kuruka in 2015 as a malnourished, no muscle, tired man. At the time Angela purchased him to be Dara’s Co-op project to eventually have him ready for the riding school. Dara worked with him putting weight and muscle on and started to see him come around. Eventually Dara got Winchester to the point he was ready to show on the Trillium Circuit and throughout the years continued with Winchester showing him in both the Hunters and Jumpers.

But Winchester was used often in the riding school and EAL programs, this boy is the definition of “more whoa than go”. He was used to teach a lot of young riders how to canter and nervous riders how to jump, due to his super calm demeanor puts even the most nervous riders at ease and most importantly for the proper use of your leg and building leg muscle!

Winchester has been retired from the riding school since October 2023, but comes out to be pampered by Dara or go on nice walks.

Happy Retirement Winchester!
