About Our Lesson Program

Welcome to Kuruka Equestrian, where riders of all ages and experience levels can discover the joy of horseback riding in a supportive, friendly, and encouraging environment. With a focus on Hunter, Jumper, and Equitation disciplines, our lesson program is designed to help every rider grow with confidence—whether they’re just starting out or preparing for competition.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to helping riders develop confidence, skill, and a meaningful connection with their horses. Our program follows the Long Term Equestrian Development (LTED) framework, created by the Coaching Association of Canada in partnership with Equestrian Canada. This ensures riders progress from beginner to advanced levels with structure, care, and a clear pathway for families who aspire to enter the show ring.

Who We Teach

Our lesson program welcomes:

  • Riders aged 6 through adult

  • Complete beginners through to advanced competition riders

  • Individuals riding for recreation or families and riders working toward competitive success

Qualified Instruction

All lessons are taught by Equestrian Canada–trained Instructors and Coaches who are committed to supportive, confidence-building teaching. We focus on:

  • Strong foundations in equitation

  • Good horsemanship and responsibility

  • Progressive rider development with opportunities for competitive advancement

  • Patient, encouraging, and goal-focused coaching

Safety First

The safety and well – being of both horse and riders are at the heart of our program. Each lesson is designed to promote awareness, building confidence, and foster respect for our horses and the riding environment.

Lesson Days & Pricing

Lessons run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings than Friday Saturday until 2pm. With a maximum of 5 riders per class, giving plenty of attention throughout the course of the lesson. Lessons are also offered year-round with winter classes taking place in our large indoor arena.

Our School Horses

Students learn on our carefully selected team of 30 experienced school horses, representing a range of breeds, sizes, and temperaments. This variety allows riders to progress on horses matched to their level, including opportunities to move to more advanced mounts as their skills develop
