Apollo arrived at Kuruka in 2012, he had an expressive and quirky personality. The brave 11year old Julia was the first one to try out this quirky pony – which we all held our breath for that first ride but instantly they clicked. Julia found Apollos buttons and then Apollo would surprise her with even more buttons for her to figure out. But together Julia and Apollo went from the cross rail division all the way up to the Trillium Circuit in both the Hunters & 1m Jumpers over the years. When Julia had started to outgrow Apollo, he went onto teaching other riders the ropes of part boarding or leasing a horse and also introduction to trillium in both hunters and jumpers… though he prefers the jumpers ? Even though Julia outgrew Apollo, she and her family would still always come and check on him and his new rider and also pamper him. His expressive and quirky personality has made him a barn favorite, he has been a great asset for many years.

Now Apollo has the retirement he deserves after many years with Kuruka, though now he is enjoying the retired life with the other older boys at the farm. Soon Apollo will be moving to Julias family’s farm for his forever retirement home

Happy Retirement Apollo!
