The barn is open to non-staff, including boarders, their designate (ex. part boarder), guardian, in the assigned time slots per barn to provide exercise (lunging or riding) and grooming.  Note that a guardian with minor counts as 2 people.

Riders will have 2hr time slots – stick to your time slot. You must leave by your end time even if you come late, No exceptions.

Disinfectant Spray is available in all cross ties / washroom / tack rooms. Disinfect everything you touch (including cross ties, latches, tack, door handles, broom, pitch fork ect)

Screening of clients – everyone coming to the farm must complete a covid screening survey before arrival.

Masks are to be worn in the barn, but do not have to be worn in the arena when riding or lunging.

WHEN RIDING / EXERCISING YOUR HORSE
We are only allowed to have a maximum of five (5) people per gathering.

Clean up any poop after riding / exercising your horse.

Sweep up the aisle after yourself.

We are doing everything we can to make it possible for you to exercise your horse and comply with provincial orders and legislation. I understand that it can be frustrating to have your time at the barn restricted. As the province starts to reopen, guidance from the provincial government is continuously updated. As soon as we know of any further changes in legislation, we will let you know. These policies have been developed to comply with provincial legislation and follow Equine Canada and Ontario Equestrian recommendations for re-opening stables during the COVID-19 pandemic.

NEW! Online Courses and Activities

To help you pass the time as you stay home to stay safe, I have created the following online courses on Google Classroom!

1) EQUINE THEORY COURSES

This will be divided into 3 courses – Intro (Rider Level 1-2-3), Intermediate(Rider Level 4-5-6) and Advanced (Rider Level 7-8)

These courses are designed around the EC Rider Level Program but anyone can register, you do not need to be working towards your rider levels to take these courses. You will learn about horse care, anatomy, health and much more.

I will cover all theory required in written, oral and practical Rider level components. This is offered as a supplement to the mini clinics we did this winter but also in place of the theory we would cover at Rider Level Camp. Those that complete the online course can choose to do a practical/riding intensive “rider level camp” in the future.

This course will be open to outside riders as well as Kuruka Riders. Fee for outside registrants will be $175 for the course.

Please contact me if you want to register

2) RIDER LEVEL REVIEW COURSE

This course will include review sheets and practice quizzes for all levels.

I will provide review materials required in written, oral and practical Rider level components.

This is offered for those who would like to learn independently through Rider Level manuals but wish to have some feedback on how they are progressing in their comprehension of the material. Video Conference calls (Zoom) will happen once a week to go over study material.

This course will be open to outside riders as well as Kuruka Riders. Fee for outside registrants will be $75.

Please contact me if you want to register

3) BANDAGING BASICS

This course is the theory component of the Bandaging Mini Clinic that we had to cancel.

The Bandaging basics online component will be available starting April 16th to April 19th.

We will have a Video Conference (Zoom) on April 19th to go over material and so I can do demonstrations.

This course will be advertised and open to outside riders as well as Kuruka Riders. Fee for outside registrants will be $40.
