Our Showing Opportunities
We are an active, family-oriented hunter-jumper & equitation barn priding ourselves on the development of our riders as competent horsemen and women, both in the saddle and in the stable.
Our goal is to assist each of our students to attain their equestrian dreams and aspirations, guiding them to be the best they can be, while emphasizing fun, friends and sportsmanship.
Kuruka provides a range of showing opportunities to riders of all ages.
Bronze Series
We attend a series of bronze level shows for our riding school students as a stepping stone and for a great first show experience. Carrot & Stick is a Ontario Equestrian Skills Development horse show at the Essa Agriplex.
Trillium Series
We attend the Georgain Bay Trillium Circuit, as the next step for thoses riders and horses who are ready for the next step of showing. Competing on the circuit the top 7 riders from each division compete at championships in Ottawa against the best in Ontario
North Silver Series
Canada. This series has very large class sizes and shows whos the best of the best at the silver level competing at the end of the year at “Play Offs”
Bronze Level Team
Our Bronze Series offers an excellent introduction to the world of showing. Designed for riding school students and first-time competitors, these shows provide a supportive, confidence-building environment to gain experience and have fun. Kuruka’s Bronze Team takes care of all your show needs by guiding you through the process from beginning to end.
- A highlight of our Bronze calendar is the Carrot & Stick Horse Show, part of the Ontario Equestrian Skills Development series, held at the Essa Agriplex.
- There are classes available from cross rail hunters up to .65m jumpers. Along with aged equitation classes and flat divisions.
- Only 3 Shows for the season, which gives you a chance to experience horse showing, but not holding pressure that a higher level show would bring. (May / July / Sept)
- Price per show ranges from $250 – 450, depending on divisions entered. *price are subject to change per show / by year
We have great moms, dads, grandparents and friends that support our community of riders. We know it takes a village to support this sport. So, we encourage everyone to strive to be their best within a family-oriented environment.

Trillium Level Team
For riders ready to take the next step with more commitment to the show season, We compete on the Central (Georgian Bay) Trillium Circuit—a well-established series offering exciting opportunities for growth and achievement.
Riders and horses on this circuit experience a higher level of competition, and the top seven riders from each division earn a place at the Trillium Championships in Ottawa, competing against the best in Ontario.
- The THJA has been hosting Horse Shows around Ontario for over 40 years. They promote memorable and amateur/ family friendly hunter jumper competitions that are affordable, high quality and provincial level and different quality venues.
- Riders on this team will have more variety in their competition with multiple divisions in both the Hunter and Jumpers along with Pony Only Classes and Aged Equitation and Medals.
- Riders on this team are required to be Part Boarding / Leasing or Own their own horse along with met the required skill level. (Jumping 2’3ft+)
- Between 5- 8 Shows for the season with about 1-2 shows a month from April – Sept. Prices vary due to the Trillium Circuit gives prize money along with Ribbons, range is $250-600. *price are subject to change per show / by year
- Trillium Championships in Ottawa will be a 5 day horse show. This will be overnight, if rider makes it to Champs price ranges between $2500 – 4000.
Silver Level Team
The Silver Series provides an affordable and supportive way to gain experience in a high-quality show environment. Riders can choose the Pre-Paid Show Pass (between $2,500 – 3,500), which includes:

Entry fees and stall rental for five shows

Two divisions, Equitation/Medal classes, and one specialty class (such as a Derby)

With the silver level teams, riders and parents will get a taste at the higer level shows. Having to comit to 3-4 days of horse showing 2-3 times a month from May – October.
- The top riders from each division qualify for the year-end Playoffs, held at Angelstone Tournaments in Erin, Ontario — where top competitors from all zones across the province come together. This is a 7 day show.
- For those not ready to commit to the full series, riders can also participate in the Wild Card Show at Angelstone — a one-show option following the same Silver format. The Wild Card is a fun, family-oriented event featuring movie nights in the Grand Prix ring, social gatherings, and activities for all ages.
