On September 14th 2015, we unexpectedly said goodbye to a fiery little red head affectionately known around the farm as Lily.  Lady Lillian and Diane experienced a unique partnership that even a non-equestrian could see the bond between these two was based on mutual respect and kindness.

Lily came into the Chartrand’s lives in 2007 and the little red mare  became an integral part of the family immediately. Diane and her brother David both trained and rode Lily, David did a few show seasons before Diane was old enough to show Lily on her own. But once those two  started showing Lily took Diane all the way from Cross rails up to both the Hunters and Jumpers on the Trillium Circuit. They also braved George Morris in 2013 together and to say the pair made an impression many people offered to buy Lily, even George liked the little mare.. but Lily was and is a “Once in a Lifetime Horse” and loved just “hanging out” and spending time with Diane.

Lily will be greatly missed by the Chartrand’s and the Kuruka family alike.

“You were my once in a lifetime horse and I love you so much.

You will always be my Baby Girl, Rest in Paradise, Sweetheart. ❤

“I loved her not for the way she danced with my angels, but for the way the sound of her name could silence my demons”
